Review by TOM LENNIE

Now based at New Song Fellowship, Denver, Loren Sandford has been involved in music since his high school days, and in more recent years has recorded numerous worship and "contemporary" albums with his New Song Music team. Songwriter, singer and accomplished acoustic guitarist, this church pastor is also an author with several titles to his name!
Sandford has a fairly unique musical style that makes it hard to draw comparisons. The first four tracks come in a bouncy swing-a-long manner with Loren's accented vocals sounding not wholly dissimilar to those of Christian blues buff Tony Loeffler. Other songs have a rather quaint yet genuinely anointed worship flow that reminds me of the quite special sound of David Haas. "As the Eagle" is a simple, focused piece of adoration. "Once Blind" is a gorgeously tender offering with a familiar hymnal structure. The closing "Time To Be Free" flows sensitively, while a delightful bonus cut is delivered a cappella style with a true Southern gospel sound! The stunning harmony vocals on these and indeed every track adds marvellously to the overall effect, while Russ Hatcher's lead guitar on tunes like "Rise Up O God" is deeply impressive.
Songs are all new and lyrics original and varied.... If you're looking for alternative forms of worship, give "Revolution" a thought - you won't have heard anything quite like it!
