Pastor Loren, I wanted to write to tell you how thankful I am for your music, and ministry. I recently purchased the whole set of albums, and I am loving them. The tone, spirit and heart are a rare find for me, and I am writing to tell you thank you, as well as thank the Lord and to also to encourage you. Also the teaching, expression and testimony in your book burnout has been extremely healing to me, and has helped me considerablly in regaining perspective that was much lost in serving. I pray that God will allow me to visit New Song sometime in the near future. My heart is overflowing with thanks and appreciation, and I am happy to be able to express it. God's peace and favor to you. Kevin H. May Cleveland, Ohio Loren
is a pioneer. He's opening up the Church to an entirely new vista and
consequent experience of what worship is meant to engender - that the
Church is to be as God's bride - and how it is to impact the world. The
Body needs what he (Loren) has found, because all too often worship has
dried up, or becomes (as Loren says), "the mere stage-setting prelude
to the sermon." How desperately the entire church needs to discover the
power and purposes of prophetic worship if we are to win the spiritual
battles that lie ahead... John Sandford David Longenecker Worship Leader Magazine JOE KING, prophetic singer, songwriter, worship leader, Great Britain More from Joe King, 1/15/03: Much music is being written about the birthing of revival through intimacy with God. I suspect in some cases there is a credibility gap, as some people write with borrowed convictions. This is certainly not the case with Loren Sanford. ------ New Song Fellowship is like a mother which is pregnant with revival. She conceived this 'child' of revival in 94/95 when she entered into a new level of intimacy with The Father. She is now preparing to give birth to what could be a city-wide revival. Any pregnant mother will need strength, particularly during the latter stages of pregnancy and the birth itself. Without that strength, there is a danger that the child will be born weak or even miscarried. ------ Loren's worship music is like the sustaining, nourishing strength needed to strengthen mother church, so that the 'Christ-child' of revival can be born in Denver. ------ Loren's credibility lies in his leadership for the church, which like the mother has faced wave after wave of labour pains but has kept pushing & pushing. As with pregnancy, you can't go back but going forward can be so painful. ----- Summer Rain: This album is a marvel, given that all the instrumental sounds are guitar-generated through a midi interface and sound module. Any guitarists out there should buy it purely from a technical point of view, to see just what is possible on a very limited budget. ----- Favourite tracks are 'Hand That Guides My Life', particularly the chorus section, "You hold the stars in your hand, you bind the sea to the land, and you always think of me." 'I Must Be Hungry' is one of the songs which would work really well in a congregational setting, even though the words are deeply intimate, "I don't know when I've loved you so, I'm not ashamed to say it so" ----- Also Loren's acoustic guitar playing is phenomenal, amply demonstrated on, 'Dancing Strings'. ----- With some albums, you're just getting into a particular mood and then the mood is broken. This album is essentially one mood. Put track one on, lie back in a bath of the Holy Spirit and soak for an hour. Recently, I have had a revival in my own life and was surfing the net looking for some anointed worship music. Your website was the first one I clicked on, and I must tell you, as I listened to the songs, tears filled my eyes, and joy filled my heart; it has been so long since I've enjoyed such sweet worship with my Lord. Thank you from my heart for the ministry you have in song and how you are willing to share it over the internet. Thank you for not putting just a sample of your music on the computer. By putting the entire song out there, you have allowed me to enter into a time of worship that I so desperately need. "A Drink of You" is one of my favorites, as is "Empty Hand" I will be purchasing both of these CD's as well as the others as soon as I can. I will be praying for your work there in Denver. Please pray for me as I pursue the direction of the Lord in my life. God bless and keep you! In Jesus Name, Jon R. Pabody Shane Nowlin Heart Cry Christian Store Vernon, AL 35592 |
