Under the direction of Ray Saragosa, our Minister of Missions and Community Impact, New Song is in process of redefining its missions strategy.  Formerly we tried to set aside 10% of our general giving for missions and appointed a committee to administer the funds.  We found this approach rather sterile.  The average member never really owned or developed a care for what we supported.  Most were not really aware and couldn't touch the various outreaches in a caring way.  We are therefore transitioning to a form of missions support that emphasizes personal responsibility for offerings over and above the tithe (see Malachi 3).  Special offerings are taken, fund raising events are held and funding is focused on special projects, some of which directly involve our own members in short term outreaches.  Our members are informed concerning what they're giving to.  In this way, involvement is increased and greater personal care is taken.

NAVAJO NATION
Through Pastors Sammy Begay and Larry Furcap of the Navajo Nation, we are developing a major supportive relationship with the revival going on there. We've helped by leading the children's programs at revivals and by occasionally filling the pulpit. One Christmas we provided 80+ bicycles to the children, as well as many other gifts for children through Pastor Furcap's church. We also periodically take truckloads of clothing and furniture down to give away and we play a supportive role in the ongoing leadership of  revival meetings.   Whippoorwill Fellowship (Pastor Larry Furcap) operates as a church plant from New Song under our 501(c)(3) tax exempt incorporation and Pastor Larry is ordained by us (as of July 28, 2006).

Angel Food is grocery store quality food ordered monthly and available at much less than retail or even any discount membership outlet. Available to any family, not just the needy.

PARTNERS IN HARVEST
We support the translocal mission and ministry of Partners in Harvest, our church affiliation, with 2% of our regular offerings.
CLOTHES CLOSET
We maintain a clothes closet open to the community.
FOOD BANK
Our food bank serves a number of families each week.
NEIGHBORHOOD OUTREACHES
We sponsor neighborhood outreaches monthly (sometimes more often) with food and clothing distribution.
COMMUNITIES OF FAITH UNITED
We are involved with COFU, an organization consisting of 50+ churches in the north metro that seeks to serve the community in tangible ways. COFU has provided school supplies to needy families and is currently seeking a warehouse to use as a food distribution center.
And that's just SOME of what we do!
